HOWARD MARKS and CHARLIE CHUCK have been confirmed to join ED BYRNE, PETER KAY, HUGH LENNON, ROSS NOBLE and PHILL JUPITUS In the comedy tent at this year’s CARLING WEEKEND FESTIVALS, nme.com can reveal.
Marks will be talking about his life as an international drugs smuggler, and providing anecdotes from his autobiography ‘Mr Nice’, while Charlie Chuck is famed for his involvement with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer in BBC comedy series ‘The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer’.
The line-up for the comedy stage varies from site to site. Some comedians are yet to be assigned a time, but the line-up of comedians over the three days so far at Reading is: August 25 – Ed Byrne, Hugh Lennon, Steve Drayton’s Pop Quiz, Rex Boyd, The Bastard Son of Tommy Cooper, Dave Johns, Dave Fulton, Ben Norris, The Mahoney Brothers, Skate Naked, Kamikaze, Woody Bop Muddy and Subvision. August 26 – Boothby Graffoe, Daniel Kitson, Steve Hughes, Andy Robinson, Steve Drayton’s Pop Quiz, Carey Marx, Steve Gribbin, Woody Bop Muddy, The Mahoney Bros, Pyromania, Kamikaze and Subvision. August 27 -Ross Noble, Mike Wilmott, Mitch Benn, Charlie Chuck, Ian Moore and Steve Drayton’s Pop Quiz.
