Five people have been injured following clashes earlier today on a campsite near St Austell in the total eclipse zone in south west England.
Over 100 police – some in riot gear – moved into the campsite to try to seize sound equipment following complaints by locals.
‘Travellers’ say that they have turned down music after requests, though it has emerged that they do not have an entertainment license. CS gas was employed in the operation and missiles have been hurled at police.
Among the five injured are two policemen and one council worker.
Police have cordoned off the area in a mile radius and a power generator has been seized so far.
There will be further eyewitness reports later today.
