A man has died today (July 5) as a result of injuries sustained in the fatal ROSKILDE FESTIVAL crush on Friday (June 30), bringing the total killed in the DANISH tragedy to nine.
The 24 year-old from Melbourne in Australia was one of three who were seriously injured but plucked alive from the melee during Pearl Jam‘s set. A German, a Dutchman, three Swedes and three Danes were also killed during the crowd surge.
Since the tragedy the spotlight has shifted to UK festivals. Michael Eavis, the Glastonbury promoter, has said he would think about refusing to book any heavy rock bands in the future so as to avoid the chance of a moshpit forming.
And Stuart Clumpas, promoter of this weekend’s (July 8/9) T In The Park festival in Scotland, has assured fans that adequate safety regulations are in place to avoid a repeat of last week’s disastrous crush.
