Expect the group to be kitted out in leathers for their next tour...
ASH have confirmed their new album will be titled ‘FREE ALL ANGELS’, and have announced details of two live instore appearances in LONDON and LEEDS.
Speaking to London radio station XFM, singer Tim Wheeler said the title is a “Hell’s Angels” saying. He continued: “But if you take it away from all that, then I think it’s really open to interpretation. I like it, it’s a statement.”
Ash are confirmed to play a short, 25-minute set at the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street in London on January 29 at 6.30pm, and two days (January 31) later will appear at Leeds Virgin Megastore for a half-hour set, also at 6.30pm. Fans can attend the London show without tickets, but for the Leeds instore entry will be via limited by wristband only, with 120 wristbands being given away in competitions via Aire FM in Leeds. The remainder will be given away during the day of the show in the store.
Ash will also play an afternoon show at the London Mean Fiddler on the afternoon of February 3 as guests of Fuji TV in Japan. The band are due on stage at 1pm, and will play a full, hour-long set. Tickets for the shows are being made available via local independent record stores in central London, and as competition prizes on XFM.
Finally, Ash are to play two exclusive acoustic radio sessions in UK cities, in front of competition winners.
The band are scheduled to play at secret locations in each city, only disclosed at the last minute to competition winners. The two stations to participate are Radio Clyde in Glasgow (January 22) and Juice 107.6FM in Liverpool (January 24).
Tickets for Liverpool can be won on a competition via the station website www.juice.fm, while Glasgow tickets can only be won only by listening to the station locally.
Ash’s new single, ‘Shining Light’ is released on January 29 via Infectious. The album will follow shortly afterwards, although there is no release date as yet.
