GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL gets its first ever official website this year.
During the lead-up to the actual live event, the website – a joint venture between The Guardian newspaper and BBC Radio 1 – will provide site maps, the stage line-ups and links to band websites, travel and survival tips plus (all-important after last year’s Somme-like conditions) weather news.
Once the festival gets underway (June 26 – 28), the website will have audio feeds from all the major stages including headliners Blur, Bob Dylan and Pulp,s along with updated news reports from the site. TV footage from BBC2’s coverage will also be available on the website.
Internet visitors are also able to donate online to official Glastonbury organisations Oxfam, Water Aid and Greenpeace.
The site is online now at www.glastonbury98.co.uk.
