Organisers of the cancelled PHOENIX FESTIVAL have announced more details regarding the exchange of tickets for the upcoming Reading festival (August 28-30).
As reported earlier on NME.com, Phoenix headliners New Order (pictured) and Prodigy have been transferred to the Reading show; Prodigy play Saturday night (August 29) and New Order perform Sunday (30). Ocean Colour Scene, due to headline Phoenix on the Friday night, are unavailable for Reading.
The Mean Fiddler Organisation, promoters for both festivals, say all Phoenix festival tickets – both weekend and single day – will be valid at Reading ’98. Phoenix ticket-holders should present their tickets as normal at the wristband exchange when they arrive at the Reading site. Single day tickets will be valid for any of the single days at Reading. THERE IS NO NEED TO SWAP TICKETS IN ADVANCE.
Phoenix ticket-holders alternatively requiring a full refund should send their tickets back to the following address: PHOENIX 1998, Dept. June, PO Box 1707, London NW10 4LW, England. (Don’t forget to provide details of your own address.)
Reading Festival takes place on the established site at 98 Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, England over the UK holiday weekend August 28-30.
* New Order’s ‘secret’ show at Manchester’s Apollo Theatre on July 16, which the band planned as a pre-Phoenix warm-up gig, is currently still going ahead according to the Apollo box office. The concert is completely sold out and support comes from Dove and Gabrielle’s Wish.
