Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem and RHCP to headline Lollapalooza 2016

The full lineup is expected to be announced on March 22

Reports have emerged that Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers and LCD Soundsystem will headline Lollapalooza 2016 in Chicago’s Grant Park.

The event will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, and according to Billboard, performers will also include Lana Del Rey and J. Cole. This year’s festival will take place over four days instead of the usual three, from July 28-31.

Radiohead’s festival season this year already includes headline slots at Iceland’s Secret Solstice, Spain’s Primavera Sound, and Lollapalooza Berlin. LCD Soundsystem, meanwhile, will headline London’s Lovebox Festival, Coachella and Primavera Sound, while Red Hot Chili Peppers have been announced as T In The Park headliners.

The full lineup for Lollapalooza is expected to be announced on Tuesday (March 22), when tickets go on sale.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke recently described himself as “fucked off” as thousands of Radiohead fans struggled to get hold of tickets to see the band in London later this year.

Demand for the tickets led to fans queuing with thousands of others in search of tickets after they went on sale yesterday morning (March 28).

Radiohead will play three nights at the Roundhouse in Camden in May. The venue has a capacity of 3300 for standing gigs. Over three nights this works out at 9,900 tickets to see the band play their first UK gigs since they did two nights at the 20,000 capacity O2 in 2012.
