With all the latest news, views and reviews on everyone from Suede to Mogwai to Basement Jaxx, nme.com is the UK’s most popular music website. Following a number of groundbreaking innovations such as nme.com e-mail, a free ISP and webcasts of bands of the calibre of Suede and Death In Vegas, we are looking to shift up a gear.

We’re looking to fill a number of posts to make nme.com the number one music site in the world.

As well as knowing the difference between Gay Dad and Puff Daddy, you’ll need to combine creativity, flair and the ability to work to tight, tight deadlines with excellent technical skills: Perl5 including OO techniques, UNIX, Shell Scripting, CGI programming, TCP/IP protocols, HTML coding using text editor. Netscape, RealMedia Server configuration, Javascript and such like would be great as well.

Working as the self-motivated Technical Guru on nme.com, and working hand in hand with the editorial team, you’ll need to combine our laid back, social, relaxed and fun loving approach with the flexibility to ditch all of that when the deadline’s on you and you just have to get the job done. It is essential that you bring a focused business perspective to the role.

In return, you’ll create the look and feel for the household name websites, and will benefit from matchless career prospects that IPC offer.

Two reporters

nme.com seeks to expand its editorial team and are looking for two Reporters to expand it’s award-winning team. You must be able to fathom, investigate, write and edit material for inclusion on nme.com. You must be able to liaise with the NME Editorial team to ensure that nme.com has the most up-to-date news services. You must be able to write reviews and features for inclusion on nme.com and NME. The ideal candidates will be internet literate, be expert in all forms of modern music, be well connected within the music industry and will have a background in news journalism.

Sub Editor

A vacancy has arisen for a Sub Editor on nme.com. Key duties and responsibilities are to:

editorial submitted to nme.com To create captions, headlines and standfirsts To work within nme.com to ensure that the site is the best music-based site available to users

The ideal candidate will be experienced in working within an editorial team to strict deadlines and will be an expert in all forms of modern music. He/she must have worked within a music & news environment and must be conversant within the minutae of magazine publishing with internet experience.
