Dr Evil announces staggering figure from top secret underground lab...

In a scene that could have come straight from an Austin Powers movie, NetAid announced yesterday that the amount of money raised from donations following last month’s world wide concert was…$1 million.

Corporate sponsorship came top $11 million, though all told the amount is insignificant compared to the $120 million raised by Live Aid concert in 1984.

The organisers have shrugged off the low figure, claiming that they never intended to raise money anyway, that they were out to raise awareness about “extreme poverty” and in this they succeeded. They also claim that it is an ongoing campaign in ‘cyberspace’ (sic) to combat world poverty.

Did you give money to NetAid? If so, why? And if not, why not? Tell us what you think. Post a message on Angst!
