"Living room session" of debut solo single available now
Zayn Malik has shared an acoustic version of his new single ‘Pillowtalk’.
The former One Direction member made the “living room session’ version of the single available to fans, with the production of the original stripped away and replaced with an acoustic guitar. Watch in full below.
‘Pillowtalk’ is the first music we’ve heard from the former boy band member since he left the group in March 2015 and is set to hit Number One in the Official UK Album Chart this week. The video for the song features Malik’s rumoured girlfriend and model Gigi Hadid.
Malik’s debut solo album ‘Mind Of Mine’ will be released in the spring.
Malik revealed in the interview that he has collaborated with R&B singer Kehlani on one of the album’s tracks. “She’s sick,” Malik said. “I love her.
“I’m feeling excited, I’m feeling nervous, I’m feeling happy – I’ve finally got to do what I wanted to do… It’s kind of just like waiting for Christmas,” Malik told Lowe.
In a recent Sunday Times profile, Malik discussed the explicit tone of ‘Pillowtalk’.
“I think I’m pretty black and white about what it’s about. Everybody has sex, and it’s something people wanna hear about. It’s part of everybody’s life, a very big part of life! And you don’t wanna sweep it under the carpet. It has to be talked about,” he said.
Malik also admitted that he had wanted to leave One Direction for some time. “I think I always kind of wanted to go. From like the first year really, I never really wanted to be there in the band. I just gave it a go because it was there at the time,” he said.
