Joni Mitchell makes first public appearance since hospitalisation last year

The singer was found unconscious at her home in March

Joni Mitchell has made her first appearance in public after being hospitalised last year.

The singer was found unconscious at her home in LA last March after suffering a brain aneurysm.

In October last year, folk singer and friend Judy Collins posted a statement on Facebook saying Mitchell was recovering well.

“I have just heard from a close mutual friend that Joni is walking, talking, painting some, doing much [sic] rehab every day, and making good progress — I have another friend who went through something similar – it does take a long time, three years for my friend, who has really totally recovered professionally and personally,” she wrote.

“I will try my best to see our songbird when I am in LA in the coming weeks – So – some good news!!”

As Stereogum reports, Mitchell was photographed at a Chick Corea concert at LA’s Catalina Bar & Grill on Saturday night (August 20). Her official website shared a photo of the singer with friends along with the caption “We are thrilled to see Joni out and about again!”
