The One Direction star should turn to him, the rapper told the Daily Star
In an interview given to the Daily Star Sunday, the rapper and entrepreneur said: ““Harry doesn’t need any help with exposure, everybody in the world knows who he is. But he does need to make the transition from being part of a group to becoming an individual artist.
“I can get him working with the bigger artists, the biggest producers – and have him as the biggest artist in the world within a year.”
Expressing a desire to join forces with Simon Cowell, Jay Z stated: “I would love to sign Harry. Simon is going to want to carry on working with him, of course. But we could do a joint venture – we both have big qualities we can bring to the table.”
The statement follows the news this week (December 30) that the frontman and two-time winner of NME Villian of the Year had already written four new songs for a potential solo album. Styles has registered the tracks, called ‘Already Home’, ‘Coco’, ‘Endlessly’ and ‘5378 Miles’, with the performing rights organisation ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Intriguingly, he shares co-writing credits for the songs with Snow Patrol guitarist John McDaid and the dance songwriter/producer Gary Go, but all four songs listed Styles as the only performer.
One Direction have been on an indefinite hiatus since their farewell performance on The X Factor on December 13.
