Sia has launched a third track from her January album ‘This Is Acting’, ‘One Million Bullets’.
‘One Million Bullets’ follows ‘Bird Set Free’ and ‘Alive’, both of which were originally written for Adele, before Sia decided to record them herself.
Sia confirmed the new LP – to be released on January 29, 2016 – earlier this month, sharing the artwork alongside ‘Bird Set Free’.
Sia performed both ‘Alive’ and ‘Bird Set Free’ alongside Donald Trump on US talk show Saturday Night Live earlier this month. Talking of ‘Alive’, she said:
“What’s funny is that I wrote this one song [Alive] and gave it to Rihanna and I had seller’s remorse because I was attached to it, I regretted it. Then she gave it back to me and I was relieved.”
“Then Adele heard it and asked if she could have it. I thought ‘Do I like it, or do I like a million dollars?’ She cut it and it was so amazing. I’m a huge fan of her voice.”
Sia also recently revealed she’s writing with FKA Twigs, telling Zane Lowe on his Beats1 show:
“I’m going to write with (FKA) Twigs. I don’t normally write with artists, it just makes it harder and takes longer for me. It’s easier for me to write the songs and just pitch them.”
“I think Twigs is really interesting and I want to work with her,” she continued. “We’re going to get some crazy choruses.”
