BBC Introducing Stage line-up for Reading and Leeds festival announced

Here’s who playing the BBC Introducing Stage at this year’s festival

The line-up for the BBC Introducing Stage at this year’s Reading and Leeds’ festival has been announced.

Among the up-and-coming acts that are making their debut at the festival are We Were Giants, Avalanche Party and Strong Asian Mothers.

The BBC Introducing Stage line-up is chosen via suggestions from all the BBC Introducing radio shows across the BBC’s local radio stations. The shortlist is then narrowed down by a panel, which in the past has included: Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Emily Eavis, Gary Lightbody, Head of Music at Radio 1, Head of BBC Introducing.

Reading And Leeds Festival takes place simultaneously in the two cites over next month’s bank holiday weekend, August 26-28, at Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.

Last month, the after-hours bill at the Alternative Stage was announced. The line-up includes Fat White Family performing live, plus DJ sets from Metronomy, Peace, Pulled Apart By Horses, Hinds and Peep Show’s Super Hans.
