Hot Chip have revealed the video for ‘Started Right’, a track taken from their recently released sixth album ‘Why Make Sense?’
The video sees a lone woman performing the track in a deserted karaoke bar before things take an unusual turn. It’s been directed by Rollo Jackson, who directed their 2012 video for ‘How Do You Do?’ and has also created music videos for Angel Haze, Chase & Status and Toddla T.

Earlier this week (August 10), the band appeared on US chat show Conan to perform ‘Started Right’ live. Watch the rendition, via Pitchfork here.
Hot Chip’s new album ‘Why Make Sense?’ was released in May. In an interview with NME last month, vocalist Joe Goddard spoke about his enjoyment working with his fellow bandmates.
“I don’t think I’ve ever questioned [the future of the band],” he said, before jokingly adding, “although, if I had some enormo mega-hit outside of Hot Chip, I’d obviously leave the band and pursue that”
Last week (August 4) saw the group play New York’s Webster Hall, where they invited LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang onstage for a rendition of the band’s ‘All My Friends’. The original track featured on 2007 album ‘Sound Of Silver’. Hot Chip have long had a connection to LCD Soundsystem, with members Al Doyle serving in both bands.
The group are currently scheduled to tour the UK in October.
Hot Chip will play:
Bristol O2 Academy (October 13)
Portsmouth Pyramid Centre (14)
Glasgow Barrowland (16)
Manchester Albert Hall (17)
Leeds Beckett University (18)
Nottingham Rock City (20)
Cambridge Corn Exchange (21)
