The singer, who has won four Grammys and two Brits this year for his album In The Lonely Hour, said he will play his concert in Milan in June. In a series of tweets, he said: “I’m so upset. I’m sorry to any fans in Milan and all those who have traveled from abroad. I promise I will make it up to you. I’m back in June and I will sing the hardest I’ve ever sung. That is a promise.”
Smith’s next scheduled date is the first show of his nine-date UK tour at Glasgow O2 Academy on Monday (March 16). He is also due to play at Wild Life, T In The Park and V festivals.
This week, Smith released a new version of his debut single Lay Me Down featuring John Legend in aid of Comic Relief, which is No 1 in the midweek chart. Smith said: “It makes me so happy to see so much support for my Red Nose Day single.”
Sam Smith will play:
Glasgow O2 Academy (March 16-17)
Manchester O2 Apollo (19-20)
Wolverhampton Civic Hall (22-23)
Brixton O2 Academy (25-27)
