Show at London record shop is the same week as their debut album is released
Royal Blood have announced details of an in-store performance at London’s Rough Trade East record store, taking place at 7pm on August 26.
The show is the day after the duo’s self-titled debut album is released, which follows their appearance on the Radio 1/NME stage at Reading And Leeds Festival that weekend. Free tickets are available to those who pre-order the album from the store.
The Brighton duo, who starred alongside Interpol, Temples and Circa Waves at this year’s NME Awards tour, gear up for the album with festival slots at Summer In The City and T In The Park, before embarking on a US tour supporting Pixies.
Singer and bassist Mike Kerr recently told NME the pair intend the album to “sound bigger than two people”. Kerr said: “Any ‘two piece’ fears things sounding the same. That’s something that we were very conscious of at the beginning. But I think the way we’ve been writing and recording, we didn’t do it all in one. We’d do three or four tracks, and then we’d go in and record, and that was over the course of a year where I think we were really developing what the band was and some of the sounds we were using.”
