Light rain with sunny intervals forecast for V Festival this weekend

Mainly mild conditions expected at both Chelsford and Staffordshire festival sites

Light rain and sunny intervals are forecast for this weekend’s V Festival, with the whole of the bash remaining relatively dry.

The two day festival takes place in both Staffordshire and Chelmsford from Saturday (August 17), and, according to The Met Office, it is going to be warm with light rain in both locations on the first day. Temperatures will reach a high of 21 degrees in Chelmsford’s Hylands Park on the Sunday (August 18) while Weston Park in Staffordshire will be slightly cooler, with a maximum temperature of 17 degrees.

Rain is forecast for the early evening at both locations on the Saturday with wind speeds of up to 35mph in Chelmsford. The Sunday will be largely sunny, if a little cloudy, with good visibility across both sites. A spokesperson for the Met Office says, “We are expecting some windy weather on Saturday afternoon at both locations so make sure your tents are pegged down properly and belongings stowed safely!”

This year’s event will be headlined by Beyonce and Kings Of Leon. Other acts on the bill include The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Stereophonics and The Courteeners. For more information head to Vfestival.com.
