The temperature will remain pleasant at Donington Park but there will be rain
Fans attending this weekend’s Download Festival should expect mixed weather, a Met Office spokesperson told NME earlier this afternoon (June 12).
Download takes place between June 14 and 16 at Donington Park in Leicestershire and is likely to get off to a “slightly unsettled” start. The festival site will be hit by fairly strong winds of 30-35mph on Friday, June 14 and there is a chance of some light rain, too.
Saturday, June 15 will start off dry, but in the afternoon there could be some more light rain showers. Then on the final day – Sunday, June 16 – the festival site will be hit by pretty heavy rain.
However, the temperature at Donington Park is likely to remain at a very pleasant 17-18 degrees Celsius for the entirety of the three-day bash, though of course conditions could feel slightly cooler when the wind is up.
This year’s Download Festival will feature headline sets from Slipknot, Rammstein and Iron Maiden, with support coming from 30 Seconds To Mars, Queens Of The Stone Age, Motorhead, Enter Shikari, A Day To Remember and Bullet For My Valentine. The festival’s organiser Andy Copping recently told NME that Slipknot are planning “some surprises” for their eagerly-anticipated Friday headline set.
