The first stage of NME‘s search for Britain’s Best Small Venue is set to come to a close on Friday (May 13) – so make sure you make your suggestion for your favourite venue in time.
Users have been suggesting venues that should win the honour since last Tuesday (May 3) at NME.COM/smallvenues. You can choose any UK venue with around 500 capacity or less and can also outline why you think it’s the greatest.
On Monday the regional shortlists based on users’ suggestions will be announced and voting will kick off in earnest. A panel of artists and experts will then pick one as the overall winner, which will be declared Britain’s Best Small Venue.
The campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of such venues to bands and music scenes, was officially launched by Friendly Fires, who played an intimate gig at their local pub The Horn in St Albans last Tuesday (May 3). Head to NME.COM/smallvenues for more information and to have your say.
