Ten date run is in support of new album ‘Wild World’
Bastille have announced an arena tour to coincide with new album ‘Wild World’.
The 10-date tour in October and November follows their summer of festival appearances and new single ‘Good Grief, which was released last week.
Speaking about the new album, singer Dan Smith said: “If our first album was about growing up and the anxieties surrounding it, our second is about trying to make sense of the world around you, both as you see it and as it’s presented to you through the media. It’s also about asking questions of the world and of the people in it. We wanted the album to be a bit disorientating – at times extroverted and introverted, light and dark.”
Songs on the new album include ‘Send Them Off!’, ‘The Currents’, ‘Snake’, ‘Blame’ and ‘Two Evils’, the song which was used as the music on the album’s trailer in June. Smith said of ‘Blame’: “It’s our first foray into big guitar riffs, in a fictional stand-off between two gangsters.”
Smith said relationships are also a theme of the album, commenting: “The world can seem a fucked up place. But people? Well, people can be amazing. The relationships you choose to have in your life are the main solace. They’re the things that make life awesome.”
Tickets for the tour go on pre-sale on Wednesday (July 6) and on general sale on Friday (July 8). Before then, Bastille play at T In The Park, V, Festival No 6 and Bestival festivals.
