Queen’s Brian May: ‘I find Lady Gaga very inspiring’

Guitarist pays tribute to 'very human' pop star

Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed that he finds Lady Gaga “very inspiring”.

According to Contactmusic, the guitarist – who worked with the pop star on her latest album ‘Born This Way’ – paid tribute to the singer by insisting she was “very human” despite her reputation for elaborate costumes and stage shows.

May said:

I had a blast working with Lady Gaga. She’s fantastic, she’s very inspiring. She’s a very human person underneath all those layers. I love her, she’s great. The persona she’s built up certainly seems to be working.

May has previously hinted that he and the rest of Queen would consider approaching Gaga to ask her to front the band. “We talk about going on the road all the time but there’s a bit of a singer problem, to put it mildly,” he said in October.

“We get a lot of offers to work with other people. I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with.”

Earlier this week it was reported that May would be working on a track with N-Dubz member Dappy. He also recently confirmed that he and Queen drummer Roger Taylor were going through their band’s old material and demos to compile a selection of unreleased tracks for a forthcoming LP.
