Paul Weller, Kasabian, Hole, The Specials to perform at Shockwaves NME Awards

Biffy Clyro, Marina And The Diamonds, The Maccabees and The Big Pink to play too

Paul Weller, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Marina And The Diamonds, The Big Pink, The Specials and The Maccabees have all been confirmed to perform live at this year’s Shockwaves NME Awards.

The acts will team up for a series of special performances and collaborations at London‘s O2 Academy Brixton next Wednesday night (February 24).

The Maccabees will kick off the night with a bang having just returned from headlining the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour before Kasabian take centre stage with The Mighty Boosh‘s Noel Fielding joining them onstage.

The Big Pink are promising a special collaboration on the night, while Biffy Clyro will join forces with Marina And The Diamonds.

The Specials will also be performing one of their classic tracks on the night and Courtney Love will play with the newly reformed Hole.

Finally the Modfather, Paul Weller, will wrap up the night with a short set after picking up the Godlike Genius award.

Jon Hillcock and the team will be broadcasting live from the awards from 7pm on Wednesday on NME Radio.

The Shockwaves NME Awards, which will be hosted by Jarvis Cocker, will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 11:25pm (GMT) next Friday (26) then on T4 on the same channel at 11:10am on Saturday (27).

Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro are among the acts nominated in the Shockwaves NME Awards this year.
