Klaxons wow crowd at Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig

Crazy costumes come out for the band as they play after The Cribs

Klaxons wowed the crowd at the Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig tonight (February 28) at the O2 Arena in London, sporting some crazy fancy dress outfits.

Frontman Jamie Reynolds wore an enormous black shroud and hood, while keyboardist James Righton wore a druid-style black outfit.

Guitarist Simon Taylor sported a shiny jumpsuit, while drummer Steffan Halperin wore a sparkly black number.

“This next song is for anyone who’s made the journey to Greenwich,” said Reynolds, before leading his band through a rapturously received version of their biggest hit, ‘Golden Skans’.

“Big shout out to all of you fuckers,” he added later in the set. “Let’s bring the doom.”

Towards the end of the set Reynolds‘ black make-up began to run, creating a dramatic effect over his face.

He finally dedicated ‘It’s Not Over Yet’ to “each and every one of you,” then led the band off to wild applause.

Klaxons played:

‘Atlantis To Interzone’

‘Totem On The Timeline’

‘Golden Skans’

‘Forgotten Works’

‘Two Receivers’

‘Gravity’s Rainbow’

‘Isle Of Her’

‘It’s Not Over Yet’
