Noah And The Whale are set to play a special one-off show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on December 10.
Tickets for the gig go on sale at 9am on November 25. In a video announcement, frontman Charlie Fink said that even though the ‘Heart of Nowhere’ tour had come to an end, they’d had such a good time that they wanted to play one more show. “We’re doing it just for our fans,” said Fink. “We’ll be back, there’ll be another album,” he added. Noah And The Whale released their fourth album earlier this year, which followed their third LP, 2011’s ‘Last Night On Earth’. Last month, the band finished up their US tour in New York, and to celebrate covered Beastie Boys‘ classic 1987 single ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)’ at their show at Irving Plaza.
Explaining that the best band in the world also came from New York City, Fink told the cheering crowd that they would be playing a Beastie Boys song that they had planned just for that night’s show, and that the version would have “a lot of character” as they didn’t know it too well.
