The artist said that González is "poised, smart and passionate", predicting: "Somebody like her is going to change the world"
Noah Cyrus has praised Emma González, hailing the Florida school shooting survivor and gun control advocate as an “inspiration”.
González has risen to prominence as a gun control activist following the tragic shooting at the Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida earlier this month, which killed 17 people. González’s recent activism has seen her co-found the gun control movement Never Again, take on President Donald Trump and the NRA, and amass over one million followers on Twitter.
González’s actions have been a source of inspiration for many, with Noah Cyrus revealing to NME in a new interview that she’s been “moved and inspired” by González in recent weeks.
“A huge inspiration to me right now is Emma Gonzalez,” she told NME. “I am so moved and inspired by her and she is somebody that I really look up to. She’s so poised, smart and passionate. Somebody like her is going to change the world.
“She’s such a strong woman and if I ever get to meet her I can’t wait to tell her that she’s one of my heroes because hearing her speak, I’m getting cold chills just thinking about it,” Cyrus continued.
“It was really just so inspiring and she inspires me. I think she could change the world a lot more than I can.”
