Noel Gallagher says he’s declined offers to appear on ‘X Factor’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

'Me? Dance? Who gives a shit about ballroom dancing?'

Noel Gallagher has revealed that he’s had offers to appear on TV talent shows like ‘X Factor’, ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The former Oasis member recently told The Sun: “I’ve been asked to go into the jungle… and twice for The X Factor. Some fucker saw I’d left Oasis, and thought I’d be unemployed. So I was even asked to do Strictly Come Dancing, which made me laugh the loudest. Me? Dance? And who gives a shit about ballroom dancing?”

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher will appear on Match Of The Day 2 as a pundit this weekend. Gallagher will line-up alongside regular pundits Jermaine Jenas and Mark Lawrenson on the show, which is hosted by Mark Chapman.

In his role as guest pundit Gallagher will front a feature on the match between his beloved Manchester City and Newcastle as well as talking about the big games from Sunday, including Spurs v West Ham, Everton v Leicester and Southampton v Liverpool. Match Of The Day 2 is on BBC One this Sunday (February 22) at 10:30pm.

Gallagher’s appearance comes amid the promotional campaign for new album ‘Chasing Yesterday’. The singer and guitarist has done a number of interviews recently as he prepares to release the record, which is out on March 2.

Speaking to NME recently, he admitted he would love to accept Carl Barât’s invitation to produce the new Libertines album, but the band’s insistence on recording abroad means he will be unable to participate.
