Noel Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys and Lou Reed honoured at GQ Men Of The Year Awards

Other winners at the annual awards bash include Elton John, Pharrell Williams and Roger Daltrey

Noel Gallagher and Arctic Monkeys were among winners at last night’s GQ Men Of The Year Awards.

Gallagher was presented with the prestigious Icon award and Arctic Monkeys were named Band of the Year. “This is the triangulation of our 2013 achievements: Glastonbury, a Match of the Day slo-mo montage and this award,” the band said of the prize.

Meanwhile, Lou Reed was presented with the Inspiration of the Year award by The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and Elton John was honoured with the Genius award. Pharrell Williams was named Performer of the Year and collected his trophy from supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Other winners included The Who’s Roger Daltrey, who received the Editor’s Choice prize, and Nick Grimshaw, who was named Radio Personality of the Year.

The annual awards bash was held at London’s Royal Opera House and featured a performance from The Strypes. Justin Timberlake also made an appearance at the event to hand the Designer of the Year prize to Tom Ford.

Meanwhile, collecting his Politician of the Year award, London mayor Boris Johnson made his stage entrance to the strains of ‘Run This Town’ by Jay Z, Kanye West and Rihanna, reports.
