Noel Gallagher rejects ‘The X Factor’ again, and says he’s worth more than Sharon Osbourne

High Flying Birds man says he turned down the chance to be a judge because he'd just end up calling Louis Walsh a 'c**t'

Noel Gallagher has turned down the chance to become a judge on the next series of The X Factor.

The former Oasis chief confirmed recent reports that he’d been approached again to join the talent series for £2 million but he refused the offer because he “didn’t want to be on the telly every Saturday night”.

He told the Q magazine: “Yes I was asked to do it again. I think they think that because my tour’s finished I’m going to be bored, but I’m never going to be that bored. Sharon Osbourne gets £1.5 million for it, I’ve heard. If she’s worth one and a half, what am I worth? Three? Three and three quarters?”

Gallagher also added: “I’ve not got anything against the show, I just don’t want to be on the telly every Saturday night, fuck that,” before joking: “You may be aware, I’ve got a slight case of Tourette’s syndrome and I would just end up saying to Louis Walsh: ‘Will you shut up, you c**t!'”

He was previously approached to join the show in 2011. At the time he turned the show down because he was working on his solo debut album, ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’. He also said his own daughter Anais was livid that he rejected Simon Cowell‘s offer. “She has never forgiven me for turning him down. I told her I’m not doing it, it’s not for me — but she just screamed in my face, ‘But Dad, it’s The X Factor‘,” he said.

Noel Gallagher recently curated a series of concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Among the gigs was a performance by Gallagher where he was supported by Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon of Blur, whom he joined on stage to perform their song ‘Tender’.
