Noel Gallagher backs The Smiths to reunite

Ex-Oasis man says The Smiths is the reunion that 'everybody would like to see'

Noel Gallagher has said that the band he would most like to see reunited is The Smiths.

The guitarist, who released his debut solo album ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ on October 17 this year, has said that the reunion of the Manchester legends is the band reunion that “everybody would like to see”. He also said that though he can see why people are sceptical about the chances of such a reunion, similar thoughts were held about the possibility of The Stone Roses and Led Zeppelin reuniting.

Asked by Sky News Australia about which band he would most like to see reunited, he replied: “The one everybody would like to see is The Smiths and they say it’s not going to happen but they said the Roses wouldn’t happen and they said Led Zeppelin wouldn’t happen.”

Gallagher also said he thought The Stone Roses‘ reunion shows would “be great” and that he was “happy for them”.

He added: “I’m happy for them, it’s great for the fans. It’s going to be great, what can I say?”.
