Travis (pictured) have revealed that Noel Gallagher is featured on a live version of ‘All I Wanna Do Is Rock’ on the Scottish band’s upcoming EP. The track was recorded at Manchester GMEX last October on the final date of the tour when Travis supported Oasis. The EP will be released by Independiente in March.
The lead track is a re-recorded version of ‘More Than Us’ featuring a string arrangement by former Art Of Noise collaborator Anne Dudley. The EP also features a re-worked version of ‘Happy’ produced by Tim Simenon. The band are also currently in talks with publishers about including a cover version of John Lennon’s ‘Gimme Some Truth’.
Travis guitarist Dougie Payne told NME a new Travis album will be out in September. “We just want to keep working. There’s so many things that can go wrong with bands, the way we see it, if we keep working, nothing can go wrong.”
Meanwhile,Travis and Catatonia are to jointly headline a four-day Radio 1 Evening Session Tour at the end of March, supported by Idlewild. The tour calls at Manchester University (March 23), Glasgow Barrowland (24), Birmingham Irish Centre (25) and Newport Centre (26). Travis headline Manchester and Glasgow while Catatonia headline Brimingham and Newport. Tickets are on sale now.
