In April, Frances Bean Cobain declared her love for Oasis in an interview with Rolling Stone, stating that she prefers the Britpop group to her late father’s band Nirvana. “I don’t really like Nirvana that much,” she commented. “Sorry, promotional people, Universal. I’m more into Mercury Rev, Oasis, Brian Jonestown Massacre. The grunge scene is not what I’m interested in.” However, she added that ‘Territorial Pissings’ is “a fucking great song”.

Cobain, 22, recently worked as an executive producer on Cobain: Montage Of Heck, a new documentary film focusing on the life of the late Nirvana frontman. “I didn’t know Kurt but I think he would have been very proud of this film,” she said of the project. “It touches on some dark subjects, but at the end of the day, I think this film provides fans of Nirvana or not fans of Nirvana a basic understanding of who Kurt was as a human being. I think that’s been lost within the romanticism of him and the myth of him and his story.”

Noel Gallagher, meanwhile, recently said that he could “never forgive” his brother Liam following their frequent bust-ups while in Oasis. He told Noisey, “My argument is ‘Be a cunt all you want but let’s do the gig first and then be a fucking dick’. His argument is ‘I’m just being a dick all the time’. Repeat endlessly until fucking 2009.”

Oasis originally split in 2009 with Noel citing an inability to work with his brother at the time as the key reason. Recent tabloid reports suggested that the band would reform without Noel. A representative of Liam told NME that Gallagher had “no comment” on the rumours.
