Noel Gallagher: ‘This year’s ‘X Factor’ contestants are fucking dreadful’

High Flying Birds mainman describes this year's reality tv groups as 'fucking appalling'

Noel Gallagher has hit out at this year’s X Factor hopefuls, calling them “fucking dreadful”.

The ex-Oasis guitarist has always been happy to offer up an opinion on the state of music, even if that means hitting out at his own albums, so the wannabes on ITV’s all-powerful talent show stood no chance.

He told Digital Spy:

I watched this series for the first time this weekend. I’m usually quite good at picking who is going to go through, and I think I managed to pick them all correctly this time. The groups are fucking appalling; they really are fucking dreadful!

Gallagher went on to admit that family life has made the show inescapable, explaining: “The over 50s or 25s category are fucking shite too. It’s only a TV show, though, and the whole thing is more like a soap opera with all their back stories and that carry-on. The live shows are when it’s at its best and it’s great Saturday night TV, especially when you’ve got an 11-year-old daughter. That show is her life!”

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds‘ self-titled debut album is released on October 17.
