Here are the nominations for the Ivor Novellos 2019

"Celebrating the best in British and Irish songwriting"

Arctic Monkeys, Jorja Smith, IDLES, The 1975, Ben Howard, George Ezra, Young Fathers and Let’s Eat Grandma are all among the names leading this year’s Ivor Novello Award nominations.

Celebrating “the best in British and Irish songwriting” across the last year in the world of music, film, TV and gaming, the awards this year showcase the work of 48 individual songwriters and composers, with 70% of those listed being nominated for the first time.

“The works nominated for The Ivors 2019 are brilliantly diverse, and we’re delighted to see so many first-time nominees recognised,” said Ivors char Crispin Hunt. “As the only peer-nominated music award in the country, they are a fantastic reflection of the exciting emerging talent of British & Irish music creators today. Our congratulations to all nominated.”

The winners will be announced at the Grosvenor House in London on Thursday May 23.
