SHOW – LET IT OUT!

A live LP is expected at the beginning of next year...

Oasis are planning to release a live album at the start of the next year through Big Brother records.

nme.com understands that Paul ‘Strangeboy’ Stacey is now editing and mixing live tapes of gigs from the band’s recent North American tour with a view to releasing it in January or February.

While no tracklisting has been decided it’s thought the album will be made up of old and new material, and could contain Oasis’ cover of Neil Young’s ‘Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)’ which the band dedicated to Kurt Cobain when they played Seattle Paramount Theatre in April.

Oasis are continuing their European tour without Noel, but last week had to pull out of a gig in Hamburg because Liam had a throat infection. The gig’s been rescheduled for Thursday (June 22).

Speaking to Austrian journalists a week before the cancellation, Liam said: “Here’s the plan. If Noel doesn’t want to come back I am not fucking singing his songs for the rest of my life. We split, we call it a day and we will start a new band – it would be called something else. I am not going to be singing fucking these songs – I will sing my own.”

For the full story, see this week’s NME, on sale in London this afternoon (June 20) and the rest of the UK tomorrow.

Oasis play UK and Irish dates in July/August. The dates are: Dublin Lansdowne Road (July 8) Bolton Reebok Stadium (July 15/16) Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium (July 29) Carling Weekend Festival – Reading (August 25) Glasgow Green Festival In The City (August 26) Carling Weekend Festival – Leeds (August 28)
