OASIS LATEST

The Oasis saga continues...

Oasis have cancelled studio time scheduled to take place in September, nme.com can reveal.

As Noel Gallagher revealed earlier this year, it was expected that the new line-up would quickly record a follow-up to their last album ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ after completing their tour commitments. Now these plans have been put on hold.

Noel is currently taking a break at his new house in Ibiza with wife Meg Matthews and baby Anais.

As previously reported, Noel quit overseas touring duties with the band a fortnight ago and has been replaced on the world tour by former Mother Earth frontman and Paul Weller guitarist Matt Deighton.

However, Noel has pledged to play live with the band when they return to the British Isles to play Dublin Landsdowne Road on July 8, and then play Bolton Reebok Stadium (July 15 & 16) and Wembley Stadium (21 & 22). The band also make three festival appearances at the Reading (August 25), Glasgow Green (26) and Leeds (28) festivals this summer.

After that, it’s not known what the future will hold for the band – especially as Liam recently declared of his brother: “If he does a fucking solo album then Oasis will be over.” – considering Noel told nme.com in January that he’d already written some five songs for his solo outing.
