Oasis wrapped up their minitour of US radio festivals on Saturday (December 11) at the 10th KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas gig.

The show, which took place at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim near Los Angeles, also featured Beck, 311 , Bush , Fiona Apple , The Foo Fighters , Rob Zombie , Tori Amos , Blink 182 , Save Ferris and Powerman 5000 . Oasis played the same five song set which they have been performing around the country – ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and a cover version of The Beatles ‘Helter Skelter’ with Noel singing vocals.

Interviewed backstage by the radio station, Noel said that the first show, which had taken place in Philadelphia the previous week was, “A bit wobbly because we hadn’t done a festival-type thing since 1995 and it was the first time the five of us had played together ever.

“Since then,” he added, “it’s been fantastic, and we’re really looking forward to it now. As every gig goes by, we’re getting more confident.”

Noel also revealed that the cover of the new album, ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’, will be, “a picture of New York City” and referred to the LP, due out in April, as “the best thing we’ve doine since ‘Definitely Maybe’.”
