Oasis played their second gig in just over a year at Chicago radio
station Q101’s Twisted 6 show which was held at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont,
Illinois.
The band performed on a bill of Moby, Run DMC, Filter, Fiona Apple, Blink 182,
The Foo Fighters and Bush, following Blink182 with the same five song set that they
performed the previous night at Philadelphia’s Y100 FEASTival : ‘Cigarettes &
Alcohol’ with a bit of Led Zeppelin‘s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ tacked on the end,
‘Supersonic’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and The Beatles’ ‘Helter
Skelter’ with Noel Gallagher on vocals.
Liam announced at one point that the band were about to play ‘Rudolph The Red-
Nosed Reindeer’, a deliberate dig at Blink 182 whose crowd-pleasing set had included
a communal, lighters-aloft version of ‘Silent Night’.
The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan watched the set from the side of the stage.
