Oasis’ Noel Gallagher speaks about Man City Kaka transfer saga

Guitarist has a dig at Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger too

OasisNoel Gallagher has blogged about the saga surrounding Manchester City‘s alleged record-breaking transfer bid for AC Milan midfielder Kaka.

City, of whom Gallagher is an avid supporter, have made a reported bid of over £100 million for Kaka. If the bid is successful, it would make the Brazilian the most expensive footballer in the world.

Writing on his official blog on Oasisinet.com, Gallagher said that the transfer bid had been the main topic on conversation in the Oasis camp prior to the band’s gig in Berlin yesterday (January 18).

“The daily chat’s been dominated by the story of that Kaka‘s proposed move to the almighty Man City. Looks like the Sheiks are starting to put their money where their mouths are,” he wrote, making references to the club’s United Arab Emirates owners.

He added, “So it looks like Robinho really was just the start! Colossal amounts of money are being talked about. Obscene, some have said. [Alex] Ferguson‘s face was a picture in his press conference yesterday though. That in itself was worth £100m. He looked shellshocked.”

Gallagher also defended critics who have said that the transfer deal is not in the spirit of the club. “Fuck morals,” he said. “Fuck Arsene Wenger and his socialist football nonsense. Fuck all that bollocks about the club losing its identity. What identity? The fact that we’ve been skint for 30 years?”

Finally, Gallagher jokingly asked the club’s owners to replace its playing kit, saying “no one likes the current one”.
