Noel Gallagher, ANDY BELL and GEM ARCHER caused chaos at a TAILGUNNER show in OXFORD last night (30 October) by arriving at the venue unannounced and prompting rumours of an impromptu OASIS show.
The three members of Oasis turned up to see Tailgunner, the band fronted by Gallagher‘s “best mate” and ‘Definitely Maybe’ producer Mark Coyle at their show at the Oxford Bullingdon Arms.
One fan who was at the gig told NME.COM: “Noel sat in the pub for two hours before the gig, near the window, and within half an hour the gig had sold out.
“Word got around Oxford that he was going to be at the show pretty quickly, and before long they were all under siege with fans looking for autographs. Others thought that Oasis were the support band.”
A much touted live appearance from Gallagher with Tailgunner also proved to be unfounded. Gallagher plays drums on the eponymous Tailgunner album, which was released on September 16 through No Label.
Instead, Gallagher spent the entire evening fending off autograph hunters, watching the show, which culminated with Coyle demolishing his equipment by setting fire to his guitar.
Tailgunner continue their UK tour on Thursday (November 2) at the Milton Keynes Woughton Centre, before playing Weymouth Verdis (3) and Turnbridge Wells Forum (4).
