Oasis O2 residency rumours resurface

Could the Gallaghers be playing London venue this year?

Rumours that Oasis could be the latest act to play a mammoth residency at London‘s O2 Arena have resurfaced.

With the band’s seventh studio album due this year, rumours of a stint at the massive venue first started some months ago.

Now, the Sunday Mirror has quoted a ‘band insider’ as saying the shows are close to being announced for autumn.

They said: “The dates will be a real special event – and the first major rock residency at the O2. There have been lots of pop acts there – The Spice Girls and Prince. Led Zeppelin did one date. But no band has yet to set up camp there for a whole run.

“They are lining up 10 dates some time in the autumn at the dome before taking on the rest of the world.

The Mirror reckons that the shows would earn something in the region of £15 million.
