OASIS are set to begin work on their album, the follow-up to ‘HEATHEN CHEMISTRY’, early in the new year.

Noel Gallagher told NME/COM at the Reading Festival that, following dates in the US with Soundtrack Of Our Lives in January 2003, he will begin writing new material.

“After the tour I’m going to take some time off, then begin writing some new songs,” he said.

Oasis were due to resume their US tour this November. However, current touring support [a][/a] couldn’t make it then and the dates were rescheduled till January.

“They couldn’t do it in November and we don’t want to do it with anyone else,” he said. “They’re our new best friends in the whole world.”
