The band play a seven-song set at the 'Top of the Pops' studios...

OASIS performed live in LONDON last night (April 11) – at a special filming for ‘TOP OF THE POPS’.

The group performed seven songs, including new single ‘The Hindu Times’, which will be shown on BBC1 tonight at 7.30pm.

They followed it with three songs from their forthcoming ‘Heathen Chemistry’ album, ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’, ‘Force Of Nature’ and ‘Songbird’.

‘Songbird’, an acoustic tribute to Nicole Appleton penned by Liam, was well received by the 300 plus crowd, who had already seen Stereophonics and [a][/a] recording live. ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’, the sort of stadium ballad which Oasis do best, is the rumoured second single from the album. Judging by the audience’s reaction it’s a wise choice.

The band closed with three live classics, ‘Acquiesce’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ and a cover of The Who’s ‘My Generation’.

The remaining songs will be broadcast at a later date by the show.
