Noe Gallagher loses his passport - leading to panic stations...

NOEL GALLAGHER threw the OASIS US tour into doubt this week when he lost his passport.

He realised it was missing shortly before he was due to board a flight to the States yesterday (August 1) and had his blushes saved only by the speedy intervention of the US embassy which rushed him through a working visa.

Though Gallagher had a spare passport locked in his management company’s safe – as is the practise for many bands – he didn’t have a working visa stamped on that passport.

The issuing of the visa usually takes six weeks, which would have knocked him out of the entire US tour, due to kick off tonight in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“These things can take up to six weeks but the Embassy were real troopers,” a spokesperson told NME.COM. “They were so quick getting back with the visa. If they hadn’t been so quick, we don’t know what the band would have done.”

The 13-date US and Canada tour rounds off in Detroit on August 21 before Oasis return to Europe for a number of shows, starting in Derry on September 7. They then head to Japan and Australia , the dates running to the end of October.
