OASIS are reported to be headlining a concert at MANCHESTER CITY’s MAINE ROAD stadium on the last day of the season – before the team move to their new home the CITY OF MANCHESTER stadium.
According to ITN, the concert would follow Noel and Liam Gallagher’s favourite football team’s final game of the 2002-2003 campaign against Southampton on May 11 and is expected to feature a bill including fellow City fans Cult, Johnny Marr, [a][/a]
guitarist Billy Duffy and 808 State.
The planned 45-minute set would include a version of the fans’ anthem ‘Blue Moon’, while two giant screens would show classic Maine Road moments. Oasis themselves famously played two sold-out shows at the stadium in April 1996.
The team are moving after 80 years at their current ground.
