And he's been invited to play with them tomorrow in Chelmsford...

THE STANDS have invited NOEL GALLAGHER to play with them at tomorrow’s V FESTIVAL performance at CHELMSFORD (August 17).

The Liverpudlian four-piece asked the Oasis guitarist to appear with them on stage, however Gallagher may be forced to decline the offer due to a clash with his favourite football team.

Singer Howie Payne told NME.COM: “We asked him to come up on stage tomorrow, but he said that Man City are playing… maybe he’ll turn up.”

He also revealed that the band offered Noel a guest slot before their set at the Stafford site today (August 16): “He came over to us and asked, ‘Why aren’t I playing today?’ We then told him to come up, but he said that he didn’t have his guitar with him.”

Payne added: “I told him I had loads of guitars with me, but he insisted that he wanted to play with HIS guitar.”

Gallagher was spotted at the Stafford site in support of his up-and-coming mates The Stands and The Bandits.
