BRMC's Nick Jago manages to stay onstage for ages while saying absolutely nothing...

OASIS, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Vines and The Datsuns are among the latest winners at the NME CARLING AWARDS – and Polyphonic Spree have played live.

Oasis walked away with the coveted Virgin Megastores Best UK Band award at Po Na Na in London today (February 13), while The Datsuns claimed the inaugural Fuck Me! Award For Innovation. They were presented with their award by ‘Jackass’ star Steve-O.

Last year’s Awards presenter Zane Lowe was on hand to present Vines with the MTV2 Best Video award for ‘(Whatever Happened To) My Rock ‘N’ Roll’. Drummer Nick Jago collected the award, and stayed onstage for what seemed like an age while saying absolutely nothing!

Earlier winners and NME Awards Tour headliners [/a] then performed new single ‘Harmonic Generator’ live, before former Radio 1 Evening Session presenter Steve Lamacq stepped forward to receive the award for Best Radio Show.

[a] then claimed the Best Single award for ‘Get Free’, for which they filmed an acceptance speech.

Come back to NME.COM shortly where we will announce the winners of more awards, including Best International Band and the NME Single Of The Year.
