Ocean Colour Scene are to play a one-off hometown gig to launch the new BIRMINGHAM ACADEMY on November 16.

The band will play the show at the new 2,300-capacity live music venue located at Dale End in Birmingham city centre. The Birmingham Academy is the first medium-sized venue the city has had in over six years.

Speaking to nme.com, venue manager Mark Brown said: “We are pleased to have landed a band of Ocean Colour Scene‘s calibre for the opening night. It is quite a coup for us considering they aren’t currently touring.”
