OCEAN COLOUR SCENE GIG GOER’S ‘ACCIDENTAL DEATH’

A Dublin court rules that Stephen Kelly's fatal fall at an OCS gig last year was a tragic accident...

A verdict of accidental death has been recorded at the inquest into the death of an Ocean Colour Scene fan who died due to injuries sustained at the band’s concert in Dublin last October.

Stephen Kelly had slipped and fallen more than 20 feet at The Point Depot in the city while putting on his coat at the end of the gig. He sustained severe head and spinal injuries and died five days later in hospital.

Stephen‘s friend Stephen Lyon told the coroner’s court that the floor had been wet because someone had urinated on it.

As a result, the court recommended that a railing two metres higher be erected around the area of the accident and that more security staff be on hand to supervise concert goers.
