Ocean Colour Scene release a new single ‘JULY’ on June 5, the theme tune for a spin-off television series from the movie ‘Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels’.
The track will feature on both the opening and closing credits for the six part series, which kicks off with a two hour introductory special starting on Channel Four on May 29.
‘July’ is the third single to be lifted from Ocean Colour Scene‘s fourth album, ‘One From The Modern’. It will be released as a double-A side with ‘I Am The News’ on June 5 through Universal/Island.
B-sides for the tracks include recordings of the band live from Stirling Castle in August 1998, Dublin’s Point Depot from November 1999 and a live version of ‘July’ recorded during their recent five day residency in London’s Astoria when they celebrated ten years together.
Guy Ritchie, ‘Lock, Stock’s…’ writer and director is also at the helm of the TV project taking co-writing and Executive Producer credits.
